Autumn Wedding Ideas and Styles
#1: Floral and Greenery
Greenery and plants have found their way into the trends for Autumn wedding ideas these days, and most people have ventured as far as to only use greenery as their decorations. From sticks, to leaves, to small trees (or big trees if you are having an outdoor wedding), any plant can be arranged to look spectacular. Let the plants speak for themselves. Usually this style is a bit more simplistic in style and colors, but make it yours!
#2: Rustic Barn and Country
Most people who choose this style have their ceremonies in a beautifully restored barns. There is already a rustic charm to the atmosphere, as the old wood makes a great backdrop. The barn spaces can usually double as a reception venue as well, with lots of room for a dance floor! If you are having an outdoor wedding, string lights can light up the ceremony above theirs heads. Instead of chairs, guests could sit on hay bales covered with flannel blankets.
This is an adventurous and fun style for Autumn wedding ideas, and usually a bit more eclectic in decorations. This style is perfect if you love string lights. String them overhead to give a twinkling star effect, on tables surrounding the centerpieces. You can even wrap them around your surroundings such as trees or beams.
For an outdoor wedding, the natural foliage could be your main backdrop. Add pumpkins here and there, corn stalks, and mums (perhaps in the bouquets.) If you are having an indoor wedding and won’t have the foliage as your backdrop, bring the foliage indoors! Have your flower girl throw fresh leaves and acorns, instead of flower petals, for an extra seasonal touch.
Autumn Wedding Colors
Of course any color ensemble you choose will work for your wedding day. But there are certain Autumn wedding colors that speak the language of the season better than others. Choose a lovely wine color paired with blush pink and nude; sunflower gold and forest green for a natural look; or grey, navy and pumpkin orange pair well together.
Autumn Wedding Table Decorations
Greenery: For this time of year, use sprigs of pine trees, pine cones, berries, leaves or flowers to decorate your tables. You can also include candles of multiple colors and heights, lighted or not.
Rustic Barn and Country: Use burlap for the tablecloths with some lighted lamps for the centerpieces. Old rope, chalkboard signs, and antique farm tools can add a country touch to your party.
Bohemian: Use lace or crocheted tablecloths for this style! Flowers made from patterned paper set in glass bottles make cute centerpieces, and succulents in small pots make both unique centerpieces and gifts for your guests to take home.
Seasonal: Gather leaves and sprinkle about the table tops. Add small pumpkins and gourds to the the center by arranging them in weaved baskets or leaving them free on the tables. Use thick brown card stock to make name plates for your guests.
Autumn Wedding Decorations For The Aisle and Backdrop:
Just as the tables for your reception must stand out, don’t leave your grand entrance or backdrop as an afterthought.
For the aisle, make a clear path, but line the walkway with candles, rocks, pumpkins, or flowers. You could leave the floor or ground bare, or line the walkway with elaborate Persian rugs for a fun and funky touch.
The backdrop is a nice touch and will be seen in pictures. Make it beautiful, yet subtle, so as not to distract from the main event: the bride and groom! Construct a frame made from wood or bent copper piping to make an archway. Drape cloth over the archway, or wrap string lights, flowers, or greenery around the archway for an extra special touch. Some people even use old doors propped up on a wall or a tree for their back drop.
